Figma Make
When LINE Indonesia announced the shutdown of their Split Bill feature, I immediately thought about how often splitting bills becomes a hassle during hangouts. Someone always forgets to pay, or the calculations go wrong. Most available apps require installation, which adds more friction. That moment sparked an idea: What if I built a simple, web-based split bill tool that anyone could use instantly, without coding or installations?

Challenge
Splitting bills after group dining or shared purchases is still surprisingly complicated in Indonesia.
Existing apps tend to:
Require registration or installation.
Have cluttered UIs not optimized for quick actions.
Lack support for receipts in local formats.
I wanted to design a fast, AI-assisted solution that feels effortless, upload a photo of your bill, and let AI handle the rest.
Experiment
Instead of building the app traditionally with code, I wanted to test how far AI tools could go in product creation. Using Figma Make, I designed and built the entire interface and interactions through prompting, no coding required. For the smart receipt extraction, I integrated Gemini AI (Vision) to read and structure receipt data automaticallyThis allowed me to test the real-world utility of a fully AI-assisted product creation pipeline.
My goal:
Create a functional, AI-powered split bill experience that:
Works directly in the browser (no installs).
Processes receipt images to detect items and totals.
Allows users to divide bills equally or by item.
Uses a clean, friendly UI inspired by familiar group-sharing moments.
Solution: BagiBill
The name “BagiBill” comes from the Indonesian word “bagi”, meaning split or share.
The idea is simple, like slicing a pizza, everyone pays for their own slice.
Key Features:
Upload or take a photo of a receipt.
AI extracts items, prices, and totals automatically.
Split equally or customize shares.
100% web-based, no installation required.
Designed for Indonesian currency and receipts.
Design Process
Built entirely in Figma Make, focusing on:
Fast user flow → Upload → AI → Done
Minimal UI with clear primary actions
No friction → no accounts, no onboarding
The design encourages immediate action, especially when the bill is on the table and friends are waiting.
Result
BagiBill launched successfully as a fully web-based, AI-driven split bill tool.
It proved that with smart prompting and design thinking, even solo creators can ship functional products without writing code.

What makes it stand out:
No login, no app store friction.
Lightweight AI integration.
Locally contextualized, understanding real Indonesian receipts.
You can try it live at 👉 bagibill.figma.site
You don’t always need to code to create something useful.
Sometimes, a clear idea, the right design mindset, and AI prompting are all you need.
Reflection
This project was both a design and product-thinking experiment.
It reinforced how AI + design tools like Figma Make can accelerate prototyping, especially for indie creators who want to test product ideas quickly.
In the future, I plan to enhance BagiBill with:
More accurate parsing for diverse receipt layouts
Expense history and smart reminders.
